I grew up in Lancaster County, PA (USA) amidst small towns and the countryside. Then I lived 30+ years in East Asia with various roles: church worker; student of Chinese language and culture; ESL teacher of children, university students and adults; co-worker in businesses; language coach; and others. In the Summer of ’14, I returned to my roots in PA. Presently I am a full-time Activities Aide at a skilled nursing facility spending over half of my time working in a secure dementia unit. I also have a number of hobbies– reading, writing, drawing, enjoying music, planting flowers, hiking, riding bike, etc.– but no time to pursue them all. I am curious and inquisitive and love learning new things and exploring new cultures and asking “why?” But my greatest passion is to seek and know what it really means to be a follower of Jesus in today’s world.
